Cthulhu Insanity Dice Now On Kickstarter! Simplify Those Fear & Insanity Checks!

Ben Burns of Dark Cult Games just launched his Kickstarter for Cthulhu Insanity Dice. This set of two 10-sided dice are perfect for horror RPGs when the players fail a fear check or lose that last bit of remaining sanity. One dice has 10 different fear reactions: babbling incoherently, explosive rage, flee in panic, faint dead away, etc. The other dice has 10 phobias that could surface when the player takes enough mental damage. These dice are going to be an invaluable addition for any horror RPG player. And it's only $13 for a set! Check them out!

Organize Your Convention Travel Data With Your Own Personal PC Record Sheet

When attending a game convention, there's a ton of information you need to have on-hand -- your flight number, your hotel reservation number, a checklist of everything you need to take, your planned purchases, your game schedule, etc. When I go to a con, I have all of this info printed out and tucked into folder I take with me. Convenient, yes, but very cumbersome.

Brandon Kruse of D&D Doodles felt the same about his various checklists and schedules, so he created the "Unofficial GenCon Character Sheet." Styled like a typical PC character sheet, the form has a place for all of your travel info as well as your schedules, checklists, and other important information all on one sheet. Incredibly useful, and the design of the form is a masterstroke. Although tagged with GenCon's logo, this sheet will come in handy for *any* game con you plan to attend. I've already downloaded it and I plan to print a few for my upcoming con attendance this year. Great work, Brandon!

Celebrating Savage Afterworld's Post 1,000...And YOU'RE Getting The Presents!

Hey gang! The Savage AfterWorld launched on June 17, 2009, and on June 2, 2016, I (finally) reached Post Number 1,000! Over the past 7 years, I've reviewed games, discussed conventions I was attending, and wrote oh-so-many RPG supplemental pieces. I hope you've enjoyed reading all 1,000 posts! (Well, not ALL of them. There are some dogs in there, admittedly.)

A few months back when I realized Post #1,000 was coming up, I knew I wanted to give back to the community -- rewarding those folks who have visited this little corner of the Interwebs. So I began compiling a stockpile of what became known as "A Few Of Sniderman's Favorite Things." These are games and supplements that hold special meaning to me -- many have been featured and/or reviewed here at The Savage AfterWorld.

And now, you're gonna get a chance to own some of 'em.

After this post goes live, I'll be accepting entries for a random drawing to be held Sunday, July 10, 8 p.m. EST. At that time, I'll be drawing 15 names at random from all entries to win some crazy-cool stuff. How do you enter? Well, wouldn't you like to see what's up for grabs? Here we go:

One person will win an Old School Gamer Patch. Sew it onto your hat, backpack or dicebag for old school cred. And three folks will win a custom-made die keychain. Two of them are d20 keychains, and one is a special Cthulhu die keychain. (All made by yours truly.)
Someone will win my one of my favorite RPG supplements -- Chill's Evenings of Terror. This great adventure compilation has NINE separate horror adventures for the Pacesetter Chill RPG and, by extension, Cryptworld! Great stuff within!
And if gonzo adventuring is more your speed, how about the Anomalous Subsurface Environment adventure series? These two books will take your adventuring party into a mapcap underground labyrinth of superscience, mutants, and very, very wild encounters. Highly rated and recommended! ONe person's gonna win BOTH of these books for one super-mega-dungeon of fun!
Demon Dogs! You can't have visited The Savage AfterWorld and not know of my love affair with the Thundarr the Barbarian cartoon! I've also created the World of Thundarr the Barbarian Sourcebook for Mutant Future. I have these custom printed for swag giveaways at conventuions I run Thundarr games at, which is the only way you can typically get your hands on one of these. But, for this giveaways, here are three copies for three lucky folks!
I love cheesy B movies, and no RPG captures this genre better than the classic game It Came From the Late, Late, Late Show. One of you will win the rules to this great game. (I need to run a game at an upcoming con, in fact...)
And speaking of cheesy, one of the best comedic superheroes RPG ever made is Stuper Powers! I have two copies of this wacky roleplaying game of third-rate heroes for two folks.
Since I earlier mentioned Thundarr, it's no surprise that 1980s cartoon action is a favorite genre. Cartoon Action Hour "gets it" by letting you play in game based on those action toons -- GI Joe, Thundercats, MASK, and more! I even kicked in on the Kickstarter for the third edition and I appear as a Thundarr-esque-like NPC! The print edition is not yet available to buyers, but my personal Kickstarted edition is being given away to one lucky person!

And now for the two BIG giveaways. As you might know, The Savage AfterWorld started as a Mutant Future-focused blog. For years, I focused on my favorite retro post-apocalyptic game, and even wrote up a couple of supplements for it. So, one person will win this Mutant Future RPG Package:

The Mutant Future rules (soft cover); Deviant Database (both 1.0 and 2.0); One Year In The Savage AfterWorld; and The Metamorphica.

My other roleplaying contributions have been for a resurrection of Pacesetter horror gaming: Cryptworld! So if you've wanted to fight monsters and investigate the supernatural, here's your chance to win the entire Cryptworld game line:

Cryptworld rules (soft cover); Monsters Macabre (soft cover); and Creepy Comic Conversion Issue 1: The Case of the Painted Beast.

For a chance to win something, just send an email to gameagain at gmail dot com with "Post 1000 Giveaway" in the subject line. In the body of the email, provide your name and email address. I'll compile the entries and will draw 15 of them at random to win one of the items listed above. And I'll happily ship worldwide, so this is open to folks around the world. (One entry per person please. Dupes will be tossed.)

Good luck everyone, and thanks very much for your patronage here at The Savage AfterWorld!
